Margaret Ault

Margaret Ault has been working in the environmental protection field for more than 24 years with 18 years experience working in the federal government. Margaret has a B.A Hon. and M.A in physical geography from Carleton University and first year Law from the University of Alberta.

Margaret’s experience is in public sector policy development and decision making in complex policy, scientific, legal and cultural contexts. Her main area of interest is at the policy/regulatory interface with the development and analysis of legislation and regulations. She has extensive experience in developing regulatory policy proposals in the area of environmental protection and in risk management instrument choice. Margaret also has extensive experience with the negotiation of complex federal / provincial and interdepartmental agreements.

Margaret’s subject areas of expertise include the management of toxic substances, the delivery of environmental protection programs (enforcement, environmental emergencies, environmental assessment), northern oil and gas exploration and development activities, aboriginal issues and public consultation.

Since 2000 Margaret has provided services to management teams in the federal government departments of Environment, Health, and Justice.
